🔍 Two ways to search
1. Lullar (free) — social profiles across 175+ platforms.
2. Spokeo (paid) — phone, address, public records. Open →
Quick answer: Spokeo sells a prepaid membership whose search takes a name, email address or username, phone number or address, and its report gathers contact details, address history and social profiles. PeopleFinders also sells one-off reports, per its App Store listing and 2026 reviews, but reviewers report no username search. Pick Spokeo for an email or handle, PeopleFinders for exactly one report. Both are US-only; Lullar checks profiles free first.

Quick Answer: Spokeo or PeopleFinders?

Disclosure: Lullar earns a commission if you buy a Spokeo membership through links on this page. Free checks first, a paid report only if you still need one.

Two long-running US people-search sites with one real difference in what they sell. PeopleFinders is the one that still sells a single report without a membership, per its App Store listing and reviewers, while Spokeo sells a prepaid membership whose search accepts an email address or username as well as a name, phone or address. We could not read PeopleFinders’ own website on 31 October 2026 (it returned a security block), so its figures below are labelled by source.

Spokeo vs PeopleFinders Compared: Inputs, Billing Model and Report Contents

Spokeo’s rows come from its own pages as read on 31 October 2026. PeopleFinders’ rows come from its App Store listing, published by the company under the name Confi-Chek Inc, and from reviews published in 2026, because its website could not be read that day. Neither company puts its web checkout price on a public page we could read.

Email or Username Lookups: Spokeo

Spokeo's search takes a name, an email address or username, a phone number or an address, and its paid report gathers contact details, address history, social profiles and property records from US public records. A trial converts to a renewing membership unless cancelled, so read the sign-up screen.

Where PeopleFinders Fits: One Report, No Membership

PeopleFinders’ distinctive product is the single purchase. Its App Store listing offers a “People Search Report” at $1.99 and a “Background Check Report” at $9.99 alongside the memberships, and 2026 reviews describe one-off web purchases in the same spirit: a people search around $2, a reverse phone lookup around $4 and a full background report around $40. If you need exactly one answer and will not be back, that is the right shape of product, and Spokeo does not reliably offer it.

The caveats are the ones reviewers repeat. The cheap trial, about $1 for three days, renews at the full monthly rate; the standard plan is reported to cap searches at roughly 150 a month; there is no annual plan, so a year costs more than at rivals with yearly pricing; and the search accepts a name, phone, address or email but not a username. Read the checkout screen twice: a “$1” offer may be the trial, not the one-off report. For removing your own listing, see our removal guide.

Where Spokeo Fits: Every Input Type in One Membership

Spokeo’s advantage over PeopleFinders is the search box. Its tabs are Name, Email, Phone and Address, the Email tab is labelled “Search by Email or Username” and promises “email owner information, connected social profiles, photos and videos, recent posts, and more”, and the phone search promises the “current phone owner name, previous phone owners, cell phones and landlines, carrier details, spam risk, and more”. Its homepage lists six report categories: contact information (phone numbers, email addresses and usernames), address history, property data and assets, personal details, social media profiles and court records, the last with the footnote “Criminal court records are not included in all plans. Additional fees may apply.” The homepage claims “over 60 billion records covering more than 250 million adults in the USA” and says it “scans more than 120 social platforms”.

On price Spokeo publishes nothing on its public pages; reviewers in autumn 2026 quoted about $20–25 a month and about $15 a month on a three-month plan, at or below PeopleFinders’ reported $24.95 standard rate, and Spokeo’s payment policy offers quarterly, semi-annual and annual prepaid terms where PeopleFinders is reported to have no annual plan. Where Spokeo loses is the single report: its policy describes memberships and trials, not one-off purchases. Our Spokeo review covers what readers report; reverse email lookup lists the free checks to run first.

Before you click: Spokeo’s payment policy says a trial converts to a renewing paid membership unless cancelled by 11:59 PM Pacific on its last day, with no refunds or proration. Trial length and price appear at sign-up.

How Each One Bills: Trials, Renewals and Cancelling

Spokeo (payment policy): an uncancelled trial converts to an ongoing subscription; cancel before 11:59 PM Pacific on the trial’s last day; plans are prepaid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually and renew at the same term; all sales are final, with no refund or proration; unused searches do not roll over; cancel under “Usage & Subscriptions” in Account Settings or by phone.

PeopleFinders (reviewer-reported, 2026, because its site could not be read): memberships renew monthly; the roughly $1 three-day trial renews at the full rate unless cancelled; cancellation is through the account dashboard, the contact form or by phone; refund reports conflict, and App Store purchases are refunded, if at all, by Apple rather than by PeopleFinders, as its own developer replies on the listing say.

Rule of thumb: one lookup, buy PeopleFinders’ one-off report or use the free layer; a month of lookups, compare the search allowance per billing period, and prefer the service that accepts the identifier you actually hold.

What Neither Does, and the Free Step Before Both

Neither searches by photo (use a reverse image search), neither shows anything inside a private account, and both are US-only.

Lullar is a free starting point, not a report: a name, email or username becomes one-click searches on 175 public platforms; a username is checked directly on about 60 of them; an email is checked for a Gravatar, and the part before the @ is tested as a username, where a hit may be someone else. It has no phone search or public records, cannot see private accounts, and does not detect which services an email is signed up to. For a name, find someone by name and city and profile finder are the free routes; for an email, search social media accounts by email and username search by email go step by step; Lullar vs Spokeo shows where the free check stops.

How to Choose Between Spokeo and PeopleFinders

Personal use only. The consumer sites here say they are not consumer reporting agencies under the FCRA, so their results may not be used for employment, tenant, credit or insurance decisions. PeopleFinders' FCRA statement is quoted from its App Store description, read on 31 October 2026, because its website could not be read. Such decisions need a consumer reporting agency; none of these products is one.

Before you click: Spokeo’s payment policy says a trial converts to a renewing paid membership unless cancelled by 11:59 PM Pacific on its last day, with no refunds or proration. Trial length and price appear at sign-up.

Sources and Method (checked 31 October 2026)

Spokeo’s pages were read on 31 October 2026 without logging in or buying anything. PeopleFinders’ website returned a Cloudflare security block on every attempt that day, so we did not read it; its rows are labelled App Store or reviewer-reported, and we quote no PeopleFinders web checkout price as current.

Not verified: either company’s current web checkout price, PeopleFinders’ current trial terms, and whether its one-off report is offered on every visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Spokeo better than PeopleFinders?

For an email address or username, Spokeo: its Email tab is labelled Search by Email or Username, and reviewers describe PeopleFinders as having no username search. For exactly one report with no membership, PeopleFinders, which sells one-off reports per its App Store listing and reviews. Both are US-only and neither is an FCRA agency.

How much does PeopleFinders cost?

Its App Store listing shows a $24.99 membership, a $29.99 Premium membership, a $1.99 people search report and a $9.99 background check report. 2026 reviews report $24.95 and $29.95 a month on the web, an introductory first month around $9.95, and a roughly $1 three-day trial that renews at the full rate. We could not read its website on 31 October 2026.

Does PeopleFinders offer a one-time report?

Yes, according to its App Store listing and 2026 reviews, which describe a single people search around $2, a reverse phone lookup around $4 and a full background report around $40 on the web. Confirm on the checkout screen that you are buying a report and not starting the trial, which renews.

Does Spokeo offer a one-time report?

Its payment policy describes prepaid memberships and trials that convert to memberships, not one-off purchases, and its public pages show no price. If a single report appears at checkout, read the renewal terms on that screen; we could not verify one.

Which one searches by username?

Spokeo, on its Email tab, which is labelled Search by Email or Username. Reviewers describe PeopleFinders as searching by name, phone, address and email only. Lullar checks a username free on about 60 public platforms before you pay for either.

Can I use Spokeo or PeopleFinders to screen a tenant or employee?

No. Spokeo says it is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, and PeopleFinders' App Store description says the same of PeopleFinders. Their results may not be used for employment, tenant, credit or insurance decisions; use a consumer reporting agency.
