Quick Answer: BeenVerified or Intelius?

Disclosure: Lullar earns a commission if you buy a Spokeo membership through links on this page. We have no affiliate link to BeenVerified or Intelius. Free checks first, a paid report only if you still need one.

Both are US people-search memberships that renew until cancelled and say they are not consumer reporting agencies. The difference is in what you can type in and how many reports you get.

Intelius’s homepage takes a name, phone number or address, but no email address and no username. If that is all you hold, it is the wrong tool.

BeenVerified vs Intelius Compared

From each company’s own pages as read on 31 October 2026. Intelius’s site answered our browser with a security check, so its pages were read through a text-reader service that fetched the live pages the same day; nothing was bought on either site. Published prices change, and the checkout screen is what binds you.

Holding an Email or Username Intelius Will Not Take? Spokeo Searches Both

Spokeo's search takes a name, an email address or username, a phone number or an address, and its paid report gathers contact details, address history, social profiles, property data and, in some plans, court records from US public records. A trial converts to a renewing membership unless cancelled.

Prices and Plans, From Their Own Pages

Intelius’s pricing page lists three memberships. People Search: $25.11 a month, or $21.35 a month billed as $42.69 on a two-month plan, with “Unlimited Person Reports” and “Unlimited Address Reports”. Reverse Phone Lookup plus People Search: a “$0.95 5-day trial” then $35.30 a month, adding unlimited phone reports. Address Lookup plus People Search: a “$0.95 7-day trial” then $34.95 a month. A downloadable report file is a $3.99 one-time fee. Its Terms of Use (last updated 30 April 2026) describe standard plans that “automatically renew every 30 days” at $25.99 or every 60 days at $43.99, slightly above the pricing page, and reserve the right to bill promotional plans “at the rate and frequency disclosed at the time you enroll”. Charges show as “PCH*INTELIUS”.

BeenVerified’s pricing page lists one month at “$36.89 plus applicable sales tax per month” and three months at “$71.94 plus applicable sales tax every 3 months”, both after a seven-day trial and both “limited to running 100 reports per month”. Its offers page lists a “7-Day Trial for Only $1” then “$32.89/month”, 35% off the three-month plan and 10% off regular pricing.

On published numbers Intelius People Search costs less per month ($21.35–25.99 against $23.98–36.89) and has no report cap. BeenVerified costs more but accepts more kinds of starting point. Few people run 100 reports in a month, so the cap rarely decides it; the inputs usually do.

What Each Search Takes and Returns

Intelius’s homepage search has three tabs: Name, Phone and Address. Its pricing page says person reports may include “Email Addresses, Address History, Employment History, Educational History, Related Persons, Business Ownership, Assets, Criminal Records, Traffic Records, Court Records”, and address reports add residents, ownership history, property value, evictions and nearby sex offenders. Email addresses appear in its reports as an output; we found no email or username search box. It says it has been running since 2003 and that it will “never alert the person you searched”.

BeenVerified’s About page lists “8 products for the price of one: people search, vehicle search, phone search, address search, email search, social media search, unclaimed money search and business search”. Its homepage describes a username report that may find “other social media accounts, full name, contact information and much more”, and a VIN lookup for vehicles. Its pricing page says “we don’t notify anybody that you have looked them up”.

So the decision is usually made by what you hold. A name, number or street address: either works, and Intelius is cheaper with no cap. An email address, a handle or a VIN: BeenVerified, or Spokeo for email and username.

Refunds, Renewal and Cancelling

The Third Option: Spokeo, After a Free Check

If what you hold is an email address or a username, Intelius will not take it and BeenVerified caps you at 100 reports for more money. Spokeo’s homepage offers “Search by Email or Username” for “email owner information, connected social profiles, photos and videos, recent posts, and more”, plus name, phone and address search, across records on “over 250 million people”. Court records are listed with the footnote “Criminal court records are not included in all plans. Additional fees may apply.” Its payment policy describes prepaid monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual plans; trials must be cancelled “prior to 11:59 PM PT on the last day of the trial”; “Unused searches do not rollover”; and “All sales of all Spokeo premium content are final.” No price is published; reviewers in autumn 2026 quoted about $20–25 a month. See our Spokeo review and Spokeo vs BeenVerified vs TruthFinder.

First, the free step. Lullar turns a name, email or username into one-click searches on 175 public platforms, checks a username directly on about 60 sites and checks an email’s Gravatar. It has no phone search or public records. Start with the box above, or read search social media accounts by email free and reverse username search.

How to Choose

Personal use only. BeenVerified, Intelius and Spokeo each say they are not consumer reporting agencies under the FCRA; their information may not be used to decide on employment, housing, credit, insurance or other eligibility. Use a consumer reporting agency for those.

Before you click: Spokeo’s trial converts to a renewing membership unless you cancel before 11:59 PM PT on its last day, and its sales are final.

Sources and Method (checked 31 October 2026)

Pages read on 31 October 2026 without creating accounts or buying reports. Intelius showed our browser a security check, so its homepage, pricing page and Terms of Use were read through a text-reader service fetching the live pages that day; BeenVerified and Spokeo were read directly. Prices are quoted from the companies’ own pages; the one reviewer figure (Spokeo) is labelled.

Not verified: which Intelius figure (pricing page or terms) a new member is charged; Intelius ownership beyond Intelius LLC; any Spokeo price.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is BeenVerified or Intelius cheaper?

Intelius, on published prices. On 31 October 2026 its People Search was $25.11 a month or $21.35 a month on a two-month plan, with unlimited person reports; BeenVerified listed $36.89 a month, $32.89 after a $1 trial, or $71.94 every three months, capped at 100 reports a month. The checkout screen decides the final price.

Can Intelius search by email or username?

Not from its homepage, which has Name, Phone and Address tabs only. Email addresses can appear inside an Intelius report as an output. For an email or username as the starting point, BeenVerified and Spokeo both take one, and Lullar checks public profiles free.

Does Intelius really give unlimited reports?

Its pricing page lists Unlimited Person Reports and Unlimited Address Reports on People Search, and unlimited phone reports on the phone bundle. BeenVerified's plans are limited to running 100 reports per month. We did not test either limit.

Which one gives refunds?

BeenVerified has a refund page saying requests are handled case by case by email. Intelius's terms promise a refund only when Intelius cancels an order it already charged, and warn that a chargeback can lead to suspension. Spokeo says all sales are final.

How do I cancel Intelius?

Its terms say you can cancel from the account dashboard, by live chat, or by calling (888) 245-1655 between 7am and 4pm PT, Monday to Friday. Cancelling stops future bills; bills already issued are still owed.

Can I use BeenVerified or Intelius for a tenant or job applicant?

No. Both say they are not consumer reporting agencies under the FCRA and forbid using their information for employment, housing, credit, insurance or other eligibility decisions. Spokeo says the same. Use a consumer reporting agency.
