Quick Answer: What Replaced PeekYou?

Disclosure: Lullar earns a commission if you buy a Spokeo membership through links on this page. Free checks first, a paid report only if you still need one.

On 2 November 2026, peekyou.com, its profile pages and its opt-out page all showed one page headed “Domain Update”: “The domain name peekyou.com is now controlled by Atlas Data Privacy Corporation”. There is no search box any more. Here is what to use instead, by task:

What Happened to PeekYou.com

The notice now on peekyou.com, read on 2 November 2026, names the case Atlas Data Privacy Corporation, et al. v. PeekYou LLC, et al., Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, Essex County, docket ESX-L-003299-25. It says Atlas and three individuals sued on 30 April 2025, asserting claims assigned by “approximately 21,700” police officers, prosecutors and other “covered persons” under New Jersey’s Daniel’s Law, which protects their home addresses and unpublished home phone numbers. It then says: “Atlas and PeekYou LLC have entered into a settlement agreement, and this lawsuit has now been resolved.”

The notice does not say whether PeekYou will return under another name, and we found no statement from PeekYou itself. What we can confirm is practical: the homepage, a name profile URL, a username search URL and the opt-out URL that 2026 removal guides point to all load the same Atlas notice. The same group took over radaris.com by court order in August 2026; our Radaris alternatives page covers that case.

Old PeekYou links may still appear in search results for a while. Every one we opened leads to the notice, so you need another tool.

The Phone Number and Address PeekYou Pointed You To, From a Name, Email or Username: Spokeo

Spokeo's search takes a name, an email address or username, a phone number or an address, and its paid report gathers contact details, address history, social profiles, property data and, in some plans, court records from US public records. A trial converts to a renewing membership unless cancelled.

PeekYou Alternatives Compared

From each service’s own pages as read on 2 November 2026, except where marked. Before the notice, PeekYou was described in 2026 privacy guides as a people search engine, running since 2006, that matched a name or username to social profiles and web mentions. No single free tool does all of that now; the table shows which one covers which part.

Free PeekYou Alternative for Social Profiles: Lullar

The PeekYou job most people miss is “type a name or a username, see their social accounts”. Lullar does that job free, with no signup and no account. A name, email or username becomes one-click searches on 175 public platforms; a username is checked directly on about 60 of them; an email is checked for a Gravatar, and the part before the @ is tested as a username, where a hit may be someone else. It cannot see private accounts and has no phone search or public records.

Start with the box above, or follow the step-by-step guides: find someone on social media by name, reverse username search and search social media accounts by email free. Lullar works for names outside the US too, because it searches the platforms themselves rather than US records.

WhatsMyName, Webmii and Social Searcher: Where Each Is Better

WhatsMyName (whatsmyname.app, built by OSINT Combine on the open-source WhatsMyName project) checks one username against a much longer list of sites than Lullar’s direct checks, and shows false positives separately. It needs a username, not a name. Our WhatsMyName alternatives and Sherlock online pages compare the username tools.

Webmii takes a first and last name and lists public web pages that mention it, with keywords to filter people who share the name. It is closer to PeekYou’s “web presence” view than to a profile finder, and it returns pages, not accounts.

Social Searcher says it is free with “Unlimited searches” and “No registration required”. It finds recent public posts, mentions and hashtags for a name or keyword. It is the better choice when you want what someone is saying, not where their accounts are.

None of the three gives a phone number or a home address. For the round-up of every free tool we have tested, see best free people search tools.

When You Need a Phone Number or Address: Spokeo

Free tools stop at public profiles and web pages. If what you needed from PeekYou was a current phone number, an address history or relatives of a US resident, that is a paid report. Spokeo’s homepage offers “Search by Email or Username” as well as name, phone and address search, describes “over 12 billion records” and access to public records on “over 250 million people”, and footnotes that “Criminal court records are not included in all plans. Additional fees may apply.” Its payment policy describes trial cancellation “prior to 11:59 PM PT on the last day of the trial”, “Unused searches do not rollover” and “All sales of all Spokeo premium content are final.” Spokeo does not publish a monthly price on its homepage; reviewers in autumn 2026 quoted about $20–25 a month.

Read our Spokeo review first, and compare the others in paid people search services compared.

Personal use only. Spokeo says it is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, so its results may not be used for employment, tenant, credit, insurance or other eligibility decisions. Use a consumer reporting agency for those.

Before you click: Spokeo’s trial converts to a renewing membership unless you cancel before 11:59 PM PT on its last day, and its sales are final.

How to Choose a PeekYou Alternative

Why Am I on PeekYou, and Is My Listing Gone?

If you searched for PeekYou because you found your own name there, the good news is that peekyou.com no longer shows any profile; every profile URL we opened on 2 November 2026 returned the Atlas notice. Two things can still show your old details: copies of PeekYou pages in search-engine caches, which fade as search engines recrawl, and the other people-search sites that collect the same public data. The PeekYou opt-out page that 2026 removal guides link to now shows the notice too, so there is nothing to submit there.

To clean up the rest, use our guide to removing yourself from people search sites, and run your own name, usernames and email through the box above to see what is public.

Sources and Method (checked 2 November 2026)

Pages read on 2 November 2026 without creating accounts or buying reports. The one reviewer figure (Spokeo’s price) is labelled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is PeekYou not working?

PeekYou.com no longer runs searches. On 2 November 2026 every page we opened showed a notice that the domain is now controlled by Atlas Data Privacy Corporation, after a New Jersey Daniel's Law lawsuit against PeekYou LLC that the notice says was settled.

Is there a site like PeekYou that still works?

Yes, for parts of what it did. Lullar finds public social profiles from a name, username or email for free, WhatsMyName sweeps one username across many sites, Webmii lists web pages that mention a name, and Social Searcher shows recent public posts. For a US phone number or address, Spokeo sells a report.

What is the best free PeekYou alternative?

For finding someone's social media accounts, Lullar: it needs no signup and searches 175 public platforms from a name, username or email. For a username only, WhatsMyName goes deeper. Neither gives a phone number or home address.

Will PeekYou come back?

Unknown. The notice says the case was resolved by a settlement and that Atlas now controls the domain; it says nothing about a relaunch, and we found no statement from PeekYou. Be wary of new sites using the PeekYou name.

Is my information still on PeekYou?

Not on peekyou.com: profile pages now show the Atlas notice. Old copies can linger in search-engine caches for a while, and other people-search sites may hold the same details, so request removal from those site by site.

Can I use a PeekYou alternative to screen a tenant or employee?

No. Spokeo says it is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, so its results may not be used for employment, tenancy, credit or insurance decisions, and free profile tools are not screening tools either. Use a consumer reporting agency.
